ARUBA
Aruba is located only 12 km. from the coast of Venezuela, it is 19.6 miles long and its narrowest part is 6 miles. The Spanish discovered the island in the 15th century and in 1636 it was conquered by the Dutch. From 1986 it is part of the Netherlands Antilles and of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The capital Oranjestad is named on the Royal Dutch yard Orange. The climate on the island is dry, which is not typical for the other countries of the Caribbean.
